Nick Voulgaris

Nick Voulgaris III is an entrepreneur, farmer, designer and published author. He is passionate about food, environmental conservation, restoration, and historic preservation. Nick combined these interests with the purchase and revitalization of Kerber’s Farm. The farm, which dates back to 1941, was slated for development into condominiums prior to Nick saving it.

Nick restored Kerber’s market and vegetable farm, and then began raising organic chickens and added numerous bee hives to produce local raw honey. Since 2012, Nick and his team have grown Kerber’s into a national brand with its products sold in a network of stores around the country including Williams Sonoma, Neiman-Marcus, Nordstrom, and more. In 2021, the Kerber's Farm School opened with an interactive classroom in one of the property’s historic barns. The farm school aims to teach sustainability, organic gardening, animal care, and farm to table cooking to students from childhood through adulthood.

Nick has written several books including On the Water: A Century of Iconic Maritime Photography from the Rosenfeld Collection, Hinckley Yachts: An American Icon, The New York Athletic Club: Celebrating 150 Years, The Seaside House: Living on the Water, Chris Craft: An American Classic, and Coffee-From A to Z: From Bean to Perfect Cup and Everything in Between, all published by Rizzoli International. Recently, Nick partnered again with Rizolli International to write The Kerber’s Farm Cookbook which celebrates a year's worth of seasonally inspired recipes with a dash of country lifestyle, interwoven with the history of Kerber's Farm.

Nick lives in Manhattan with his English Labrador Frankie, but in the summer he is most often aboard his classic Alden sailboat in Shelter Island and Sag Harbor, NY.

Mimi Ewald
General Manager

Everyone knows Mimi's warm smile when you walk into Kerber's Farm. She was a preschool teacher for 15 years before coming to Kerber's full time, and quickly became our General Manager.

Mimi is originally from Glen Cove, NY and graduated from CW Post with a duel degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. She then went on to teach in various preschools on Long Island.

Mimi has a intense love for gardening and dogs! She spear-heads our planting season and schedule for all our organic produce and flowers grown on the farm. She designs and plants our beautiful front garden as well as our backyard area. She also knows every dog friend who comes to visit us at Kerber's Farm (and here's a hint, she usually has a doggie biscuit in her pocket!)

Mimi loves to visit her son Trey in California, and hang out at home in Huntington, NY with her son Trevor, husband Chip and rescue hound, Blu.

Liz Martinez
Kitchen Manager

Liz's love for cooking and baking grew during high school after a culinary arts program at Wilson Tech. After graduation, she pursued her degree at her dream college, The Culinary Institute of America.

After college, she started working at a Michelin Star restaurant in NYC. She then decided to work closer to home, which is when she found Kerber's Farm. She instantly fell in love with the people, the food, and of course, the chickens! Now you can find her in our kitchen cooking away!

When Liz is not at Kerber's, she is either at home with her family and adorable Maltipoo, Oreo, or you may find her in NYC, enjoying all the food the city has to offer.

Carol Clopper
Assistant General Manager

After teaching for many years, a casual conversation with her favorite co-teacher, Mimi, led Carol to Kerber’s Farm. Having grown up in a small town, the warm and friendly atmosphere of Kerber’s felt like home.

Carol moved from Maryland to Arkansas to Ohio as a child. Then with her degree in Primary, Elementary, and Special Education, she taught in Ohio, Texas, and New York. Since 2003, Carol, her husband, and their three children have called South Huntington home. Carol’s parents and younger sister joined the household in 2016, making for quite a full house!

When she isn’t at Kerber’s Farm, Carol can usually be found at home knitting, reading, or playing board games with her family.
