Ages 4-9

*This is a drop-off class series.

Participants in this three class series will explore Kerber’s Farm, learning about our animals and garden. Then they will be introduced to famous artists and their styles. While use Kerber's Farm as inspiration, students will create their own masterpieces to take home at the end of the series.

The classes are only offered as a series of three. There will be no discounts or partial refunds if a class is missed.

July 11th  - Sunflowers & Seurat

  • The first class in this series will feature the herb, vegetable, and flower gardens here at Kerber’s Farm. We will explore the farm-to-table products that come from farms and feed our animals. Back in the classroom we will create sunflowers on canvas using the pointillism technique popularized by George Seurat in the 1800s.

July 18th - Calling all Pig-Cassos

  • The second class in the Art on the Farm series will feature our pot-bellied pigs Holly and Poppy. We will learn about their anatomy, dietary habits, and special characteristics. We will feed them and then head back to the classroom to explore various forms of art such as Cubism, Collage, and Pop Art. Each student will create a unique piece of art using inspiration from Picasso or Warhol.

July 25th - Van-Goats Gallery

  • The final class in our three-part series features our Nigerian dwarf goat Daisy. We will learn about her anatomy, special features, and her diet as an herbivore. After touring the farm for inspiration, we will head back to the classroom to explore impressionist artists Monet and Van Gogh and create pieces of art. Note: the last class includes a “Gallery Walk” for parents to view the artist’s work from the series.
