Nick Voulgaris, owner

Nick Voulgaris III is an entrepreneur, farmer, designer and published author.  He is passionate about food, environmental conservation, restoration and historic preservation.  He was able to combine these interests with the purchase and revitalization of Kerber’s Farm. The farm, which dates back to 1941, was slated for development into condominiums prior to Nick saving it.

Nick has restored the market and vegetable farm, raises organic chickens, and has numerous bee hives for local raw honey.  In three short years he and his team have grown Kerber’s into a national brand with it's products sold in a network of stores around the country including Williams Sonoma and all Neiman-Marcus stores.  Future plans for the farm include building a farming educational school and interactive classroom in one of the property’s historic barns.

Nick has written several books including HINCKLEY YACHTS: AN AMERICAN ICON and THE SEASIDE HOUSE, published by Rizzoli International. He is currently writing two new books: one on the legendary boat builder Chris-Craft, and the other on the fabled New York Athletic Club.  

Nick lives in Manhattan with his English Labrador Charlie, and in the summer aboard his classic Alden sailboat in Shelter Island, NY.

devin dowd, general manager

Devin literally grew up in the hospitality industry. She started working in her father’s restaurants at 11 years old, and from then fell in love with the business. Devin is a graduate of SUNY Delhi and SUNY Oneonta with a degree is Hospitality Management. After college, She has worked in several luxury hotels as well as being one of the youngest managers at a national chain restaurant.  Devin’s first priority is our customer’s satisfaction and ensuring everyone has a memorable experience at the farm.

Devin has always had a love for animals. While growing up she cared for many different types of animals, and now spends her spare time volunteering to help rescue dogs.  She ensures that our chickens live a happy and healthy life and from working on the farm has developed a passion for beekeeping. She now takes care of the Kerber’s Farm hives and honey harvesting.

Devin lives in Babylon, NY with her Pitbull mix Millie.

Mimi ewald, Assistant Manager

Everyone knows Mimi's warm smile when you walk into Kerber's Farm. She was a preschool teacher for 15 years before coming to Kerber's full time, and quickly becoming our Assistant Manager.

Mimi is originally from Glen Cove, NY and graduated from CW Post with a duel degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. She then went on to teach in various preschools on Long Island

Mimi has a intense love for gardening and dogs! She spear-heads our planting season and schedule for all our organic produce grown on the farm.  She designs and plants our beautiful front garden as well as our backyard area. She also knows every dog friend who comes to visit us at Kerber's Farm (and here's a hint, she usually has a doggie biscuit in her pocket!)

Mimi loves to visit her son Trey in California, and hang out at home in Huntington, NY with her son Trever and husband Chip.

 

Bonnie Boriotti, Kitchen Manager

Bonnie has always had a love for baking, and she originally came to Kerber's Farm as an intern.  Bonnie's continued dedication to Kerber's and passion for our homemade from scratch style made her an easy choice to join our management team! She will be graduating in Spring 2017 with an Associates Degree in Baking.

Bonnie's passion is in using her baking skills to make people happy! She's always baking our favorite goodies for birthdays and creating new and delicious items for the Kerber's Farm.

You can always find Bonnie obsessing over Game of Thrones and hanging out with her 2 pups Opie and Finn and her cat Honeybear.
